A local video podcast where the people running for office, and other notable guests, sit down for an honest conversation and a grilled cheese made exactly the way they like it. You pick the topic. You pick the sandwich. I cook.

Who gets invited

Anyone running for office in Owen Sound this fall: mayor, deputy mayor, council, and school board trustees. Plus notable community guests with something worth hearing, such as organizers, business owners, and long-time volunteers.

Episodes are conversational, roughly an hour, recorded locally, and hosted on this site. Every interview also lands as a pin on the map, placed where the guest is from or where their topic lives.

The fairness note

Full disclosure: your host is also a registered candidate for mayor. That is exactly why the table is shared. Every registered candidate in the race gets the same invitation, the same menu, and the same uninterrupted time to make their case. No trick questions, no editing tricks, no favourites. The sandwich is the only thing made to order.

Why grilled cheese

Because everybody has an opinion about it, nobody fights about it, and it is very hard to give a canned speech while holding a hot sandwich. Simple food, straight answers. That is the whole format.
